Stop by stop
A mysterious shrine with no known founding date
Our first stop, a short ride from the base, is Hanazono Shrine. Nobody knows exactly when it was founded, which only adds to its quiet mystery. At this hour the approach is empty but for the bronze komainu guardians watching over the red torii, and you can take your time looking around without squeezing past anyone.
A towering wooden torii, framed by forest
From Hanazono we ride on toward Meiji Shrine, arriving at its towering wooden torii gate before the forest paths fill up. It marks the entrance to one of Tokyo's most important shrines, surrounded by a forest planted for it a century ago. In the early morning light, with hardly anyone else around, it's one of the most peaceful moments of the ride.
Harajuku's famous shopping street, still waking up
Next we cruise through Takeshita Street, normally one of Tokyo's busiest pedestrian strips, packed shoulder to shoulder by midday. At our early hour the shutters are still rolling up and the crowds haven't arrived yet, so you get a rare, relaxed look at the colorful shopfronts and signage without the usual crush.
The world-famous pedestrian crossing, wide open
From Harajuku we head to Shibuya to cross the famous scramble crossing, a crossing hundreds of thousands of people pass through on an average day. Riding through it early means far fewer of them, a chance to see and photograph this Tokyo icon without getting lost in the crowd. Your guide will time the crossing with you so you can take it in.
A local shrine and a historic cemetery to finish
Our last stop combines two places most visitors never see: Konno Hachimangu Shrine, a small neighborhood shrine tucked just off the street, and historic Aoyama Cemetery, one of Tokyo's oldest public cemeteries and a quiet, tree-lined spot favored by locals. It's a calm, reflective way to close out the ride before heading back to the base.

- The cycling base is in the building. Look for the Trip Port e-bikes and helmets set out front.
- Your guide will be waiting to fit your helmet and get you set up before the ride starts.
The tour ends back at the same base, S-tie Maison Yotsuya Sakamachi, at the end of the ride.

Is this tour private?+
Yes. It's private for your group and your guide. The 2–10 group size is simply the range we can take in one booking.
I'm travelling solo. Can I still book?+
Yes. Solo travellers are booked at the 2-person price so the tour can run privately for you.
Can I choose my start time?+
Yes. Pick 8:00, 9:00, or 10:00 when you book. The earlier slots are the quietest, with the fewest people out on the streets.
What if it rains?+
The tour runs in light rain. If conditions look unsafe for riding, we'll contact you to reschedule or discuss a refund.
Do I need cycling experience?+
No. The e-bikes are pedal-assist and easy to handle, and your guide gives you a practice ride before setting off. It's a good fit for beginners.
Which languages do the guides speak?+
All guides speak English. Some also speak Chinese, Korean, Spanish, or French. Ask when booking and we'll try to match you.
How is this different from your other e-bike tours?+
This one starts early (8–10am) and is built around shrines: Hanazono, the Meiji Shrine torii, and Konno Hachimangu, with the appeal of near-empty streets. Our other e-bike tours run later in the day and cover a broader mix of city landmarks without the early start or the shrine focus.
Do I need to pay anything on the day?+
No. Everything listed is prepaid. There's nothing planned on this route that requires extra cash, though you're welcome to bring a little for personal extras.
